The Orbit Chandelier by Patrick Townsend reimagines a traditional silhouette with a string of lights that form an open and airy formation. Its design is drawn from the idea of “pulling apart and exploding” the string light, with an array of cylindrical metal bulb holders expanding outward and hovering below. Much like the mechanisms used in suspension bridges, this chandelier uses a combination of tension and compression resulting in the design, which allows for a demonstration of full and even light to reach throughout the room.
